This guide walks you through connecting your Bunny account to Skippz, and through the few things worth knowing so your setup runs smoothly. If you prefer to watch, the video tutorial is just below.
Step 1: Log in or create your Bunny account. Go to bunny.net and sign in, or create a new account. Add a payment method under Billing before you do anything else. Bunny removes all uploaded videos once the free trial expires if no payment method is on file.
Step 2: Get your API key. In your Bunny dashboard, open Account Settings, then API, and copy your Account API Key.
Step 3: Connect in Skippz. In Skippz, open Settings, then Video Provider. Paste your API key and choose your preferred region. Frankfurt is always used as your main library location, because it is Bunny's core data centre, while the region you choose acts as a replication point for faster delivery to your viewers.
Step 4: Click Connect. Skippz automatically creates your Stream Library and Storage Zone inside Bunny, set up with optimal settings for performance and delivery. Your videos are now ready to upload, organise and share through Skippz.
This is expected, and it is by design.
Skippz does not do a two way sync. We never scan or access your whole Bunny account. Instead, when you connect, we create a new library inside your Bunny account, configured with the right region, caching and bandwidth saving settings for Skippz to run well. Any videos already in your Bunny account stay exactly where they are and will not appear in Skippz automatically.
We do this deliberately, to protect your privacy and keep you in full control of what shows up in your dashboard. An easy way to import your existing Bunny videos, without re-uploading, is on the way.
If you own more than one workspace, you can connect a different Bunny account to each. This keeps infrastructure, billing and content cleanly separated, which is especially useful if you manage several brands or clients.
A few simple rules keep everything working:
Do not manually delete your Stream Library or Storage Zone in Bunny. These are created automatically when you connect. Deleting them from your Bunny dashboard breaks the link and corrupts your video entries inside Skippz.
Keep your Bunny account active. If the trial ends with no billing details, Bunny automatically removes all content. Make sure your account is active before uploading.
Manage your videos through Skippz, not directly in Bunny. Files deleted directly in Bunny cannot be restored or matched again inside Skippz.
Frankfurt is always your main library location, and the region you select is a replication point that speeds up delivery worldwide. This keeps your videos stored securely and delivered fast, without affecting performance.
Once you have uploaded videos, the region cannot be changed. If you have not uploaded anything yet, or want to start fresh, disconnect using Delete from both, then reconnect with a new region. Alternatively, you can create a new Replication Zone in Bunny without disconnecting.
When you disconnect, you choose one of two options:
Delete from Skippz only. Keeps all your Bunny videos intact and only removes the Skippz metadata.
Delete from both. Also deletes your Stream Library and Storage Zone from Bunny. This cannot be undone, and any files you uploaded manually into those zones are permanently deleted too. Only use this if you are certain.
If you disconnect by accident, just reconnect using the same API key. As long as you did not choose Delete from both or manually delete your libraries in Bunny, your files and metadata sync back and continue working.
We only store the encrypted video link provided by Bunny, along with metadata such as the video name, description and tags. When you disconnect, you decide whether we remove this data, by choosing Delete from Skippz only or Delete from both.
Captions. Bunny does not include free caption generation, and its built in transcription is costly. With Skippz you can upload your own .vtt subtitle files, and our AI Caption Suite lets you generate captions in over 100 languages, translate them, and edit your subtitles, all inside Skippz without ever leaving the platform.
Thumbnails. Bunny creates one thumbnail when a video is uploaded but does not allow on demand thumbnail generation. With Skippz you can upload any custom thumbnail image to keep your videos visually consistent.
The most common issue is not being able to upload. It usually comes down to one of these:
Your Bunny account is not fully connected. Recheck your API key and reconnect.
Your free trial expired or no payment method is set up. Add billing details in Bunny.
A Stream Library or Storage Zone was deleted manually. Reconnect to create a fresh one.
If your existing Bunny videos are not appearing, that is expected. See the section above on why that happens.
