BYOK stands for Bring Your Own Infrastructure. Instead of Skippz hosting and delivering your videos for you, you connect your own video infrastructure account, currently MUX or Bunny Stream, with more providers on the way. Skippz then sits on top as your management, delivery, collaboration and growth layer. Your provider quietly handles storage and delivery in the background, and Skippz handles everything you and your team actually work with day to day.
Connecting is simple. You add your provider's API keys and Skippz guides you through the rest. No coding required.

With our standard plans, your storage and bandwidth are included in your Skippz subscription. With BYOK, they are not.
BYOK plans include the Skippz software layer only. You pay your infrastructure provider directly for storage and delivery, at their pricing, and you pay Skippz separately for the platform on top. Two clean, separate bills.
That single difference is what decides whether BYOK is right for you.
For most people, our standard plans are the simpler, more flexible and more affordable choice. We handle the infrastructure, your storage and bandwidth are included, and usage controls like pay as you go and add-ons are built in and easy to manage. If you want video hosting handled for you with one predictable bill, our standard plans are the better fit.
BYOK makes sense in a narrower set of cases. It is a strong fit if you:
already use MUX or Bunny Stream and want to keep that account and relationship
have negotiated volume discounts or enterprise pricing with your provider, and would rather use those rates than included platform usage
need full ownership of and direct access to your video storage
are comfortable managing your own infrastructure account, or have a team that is
If that sounds like you, BYOK lets you keep your infrastructure and your pricing exactly as they are, and adds the modern video layer your provider was never built for: a custom branded player, analytics, AI tools, the marketing suite, Spotlights, team collaboration and more. Your provider is excellent at infrastructure. Skippz is the operational and experience layer on top of it.
A few honest points, so you choose with your eyes open:
You own and manage your infrastructure. Your storage and delivery live in your own provider account. Skippz connects to it but never takes it over and never holds your files, which is exactly what gives you full privacy, ownership and control. The other side of that ownership is that the account is yours to run. Setup can be more technical on some providers than others, and anything that happens inside that account is managed by you and your provider.
Usage controls live with your provider. On our standard plans, things like usage limits and add-ons are built into Skippz and simple to adjust. On BYOK, those controls sit with your infrastructure provider, where they are usually available but can take more technical setup.
Two layers of support. Skippz fully supports the layer it provides. Your provider supports the infrastructure beneath it. Because we never have access to your provider account, anything inside it is handled by you and your provider directly.
None of this is a hurdle if infrastructure is already something your team manages. It is simply the trade for the control and the pricing that BYOK gives you.
Whichever path you choose, your content is never trapped. With BYOK your videos always live in your own provider account, so if you ever switch providers or leave Skippz, everything stays with you.
If you do not already have a provider account and you are not looking to manage infrastructure, start with a standard plan. You get the full Skippz experience with none of the setup, and you can always explore BYOK later.
