Understanding Your Usage Dashboard

Learn how to navigate your Usage Dashboard, understand your usage metrics, and track how your usage affects your billing.

Your Skippz usage information helps you understand how much of your included resources you have used and whether you have any additional usage.

You can use these figures to monitor your storage and bandwidth usage and understand how your current usage relates to your subscription.

What does the usage information show?

Your usage information can show values such as:

  • Included — The amount included with your subscription.

  • Used — The amount you have consumed during the relevant period.

  • Remaining — The amount of included usage you still have available.

  • Additional — Usage beyond your included amount that may result in an additional charge.

  • General View — Shows your overall storage usage and bandwidth usage across your account.

  • Workspace View — Shows storage and bandwidth usage for each individual workspace.

These figures help you understand your current position without having to calculate your usage manually.

Understanding Included

Included shows how much of a resource is provided with your subscription.

For example, if your subscription includes 200 GB of bandwidth, your usage information will show 200 GB as the included amount.

The included amount depends on your subscription and the resource you are viewing.

Understanding Used

Used shows how much of the resource you have consumed. However, storage and bandwidth are calculated at the account level, not separately for each workspace..

You can view usage in General (account-wise) or Workspace-wise views.

  • General View (Account-wise) — Shows storage and bandwidth usage for your entire account.

  • Workspace View — Shows usage organized by individual workspaces.

For bandwidth, this represents bandwidth used to deliver your videos to viewers.

For storage, it represents the amount of video content currently stored in your account.

For example:

If your plan includes 200 GB of bandwidth and your viewers have used 75 GB, your bandwidth usage is 75 GB.

Understanding Remaining

The remaining shows how much of your included resources are still available. When you hover over the Storage or Bandwidth progress bar, you can see the exact remaining amount.

For example:

Included: 200 GB Used: 75 GB Remaining: 125 GB

This lets you quickly see how much included bandwidth is available before additional bandwidth may be required.

Understanding Additional Usage

Additional represents usage beyond the amount included with your subscription.

For bandwidth, additional usage is handled through Pay As You Go.

For storage, usage beyond your included storage is handled through Storage Add-ons.

These two types of additional usage are billed differently.

See How Pay As You Go Usage Works and How Additional Storage Is Calculated and Billed for more information.

Understanding your bandwidth usage

Bandwidth usage is associated with your billing period.

As viewers watch your videos, bandwidth usage increases. When your included bandwidth is fully used, additional bandwidth may be charged through Pay As You Go.

For example:

Included: 200 GB
Used: 180 GB
Remaining: 20 GB
Additional: 0 GB

If another 30 GB of bandwidth is used, the included 20 GB is consumed first and the remaining 10 GB becomes additional bandwidth usage.

See Understanding Your Bandwidth Usage for more information.

Understanding your storage usage

Storage is different from bandwidth because it represents the videos currently stored in your account.

For example:

Included: 100 GB Used: 80 GB Remaining: 20 GB

If you upload another 30 GB of videos, your total storage usage becomes 110 GB. The 10 GB above your included storage is handled as additional storage.

Deleting videos can reduce your current storage usage because those videos are no longer stored in your account.

See Understanding Your Storage Usage for more information.

Check your usage history

Your usage information can also help you understand how your usage changes over time.

Reviewing historical usage is useful when:

  • Your bandwidth suddenly increases.

  • You want to understand an additional charge.

  • You are approaching your included limit.

  • You want to compare your current usage with previous periods.

If your usage is unexpectedly high, see Why Is My Usage Higher Than Expected?

Check your current billing period

When reviewing usage, make sure you are looking at the correct billing period.

Bandwidth usage is associated with your current billing cycle, while storage reflects the content currently stored in your account.

Your billing period determines when included bandwidth becomes available again.

See When Does My Usage Reset? for more information.

Use the dashboard to understand additional charges

Your usage dashboard is one of the first places to check when you notice an additional charge.

For example, if your invoice contains an additional bandwidth charge, you can compare it with your bandwidth usage and Pay As You Go activity.

If you still cannot identify the charge, see Why Did I Receive an Additional Usage Charge?
