When Does My Usage Reset?

Gleap Article Description Learn how Skippz storage and bandwidth usage work, including when bandwidth resets, why storage does not reset, how Pay As You Go and Storage Add-ons are handled, and how to interpret usage in the General and Workspace views. Understand account-level limits, workspace usage tracking, and why storage and bandwidth usage may differ.

Your Skippz usage does not reset in the same way for every resource. Bandwidth follows your billing cycle, while storage is based on the videos currently stored in your account.

It is also important to understand the difference between the General view and the Workspace view when checking your usage.

General and Workspace usage views

You can view your usage in two ways:

General View

The General view shows storage and bandwidth usage for your entire Skippz account.

This gives you the overall picture of how much storage your account is using and how much bandwidth has been consumed.

Workspace View

The Workspace view organizes usage information by individual workspaces.

However, storage and bandwidth are calculated and displayed based on workspace usage, but they are not divided or allocated separately among workspaces.

The Workspace view helps you see how much storage and bandwidth each workspace is using. However, there is no separate storage or bandwidth allowance assigned to each workspace.

For example, if your account has 200 GB of included bandwidth, the 200 GB is an overall account-level allowance. If you have two workspaces, the 200 GB is not split into 100 GB for each workspace. Instead, the Workspace view shows the bandwidth usage associated with each workspace, while the total usage is counted against the account's overall bandwidth allowance.

In other words, usage is calculated workspace-wise for visibility and tracking, but the available storage and bandwidth are not divided between workspaces.

When does bandwidth reset?

Your included bandwidth is associated with your billing cycle.

When a new billing period begins, your included bandwidth becomes available count again according to your subscription.

For example:

Your plan includes 200 GB of bandwidth. You use 180 GB during your current billing period, leaving 20 GB remaining. When your next billing period begins, your included bandwidth (200 GB) is available again for the new period.

If you use all of your included bandwidth before the billing period ends, additional bandwidth can be handled through Pay As You Go if it is enabled and your Skippz wallet has sufficient amount .

See How Pay As You Go Usage Works for more information.

Does unused bandwidth carry over?

Your included bandwidth is tied to the current billing period. It is not a permanent storage balance that accumulates from one billing period to the next.

For example, if you use only 100 GB of a 200 GB allowance, the remaining 100 GB does not become an additional 100 GB added to your next period.

Your next billing period starts with the bandwidth included in your subscription for that period.

Does storage reset?

No. Storage does not reset at the beginning of a new billing period.

Storage represents the videos currently stored in your Skippz account.

For example:

Your plan includes 100 GB of storage and you have 80 GB of videos stored. When your next billing period begins, those same 80 GB of videos remain in your account, so your storage usage remains 80 GB.

If you upload more videos, storage usage increases. If you delete videos, storage usage can decrease.

See Understanding Your Storage Usage for more information.

What happens if I am using additional storage?

If your stored videos exceed your included storage, the excess is handled through a Storage Add-on.

Starting a new billing period does not automatically remove the storage overage because the videos are still stored in your account.

For example:

Your plan includes 100 GB, but you have 120 GB of videos stored. Starting a new billing period does not bring your usage back to 100 GB. You still have 120 GB stored, so the 20 GB above your included amount remains additional storage.

If you remove enough videos to bring your storage back within your included amount, your storage usage is recalculated based on the content currently stored.

See How Additional Storage Is Calculated and Billed for more information.

What happens to Pay As You Go bandwidth?

If you use all of your included bandwidth during a billing period, additional bandwidth can be charged through Pay As You Go.

Your Wallet is used to pay for this additional bandwidth.

When the next billing period begins, your included bandwidth becomes available again. Your Wallet balance is separate from your included bandwidth and does not reset simply because a new billing period has started.

Why can storage and bandwidth look different?

Storage and bandwidth measure different types of usage:

Storage = videos currently stored in your account.

Bandwidth = video data delivered to viewers during your billing period.

For example, you might have:

  • 80 GB of videos stored.

  • 150 GB of bandwidth used this billing period.

There is no requirement for these numbers to be the same. A small video library can generate significant bandwidth if many viewers watch the videos.

Account-level usage vs workspace view

When reviewing your usage, remember:

  • General View: Shows account-wide storage and bandwidth usage.

  • Workspace View: Organizes the information by workspace.

  • Storage limits: Apply at the account level.

  • Bandwidth limits: Apply at the account level.

  • Workspaces do not receive separate storage or bandwidth allowances simply because they are separate workspaces.

This distinction is important when trying to understand your overall usage or investigating an additional usage charge.
